Hanzle and Grettle

Hanzle and Grettle

Hanzle and Grettle
Are both very little
But they both share
No reason to be fair
No home from which they heir

Lost in the forest
Forest of unrest
Till someone finds them
Feeling pity for the children
Taking them into their den

Once inside
There is no place to hide
From these two trolls
Who cook over burning coals
With eyes empty of souls

Hanzle and Grettle
Give heat to kettle
For delicious hair/nail tea
Which fills them with glee
Grinding bones for sugar free

They eat their fill
Then off to kill
for tomorrow needs another meal
So tasty; so surreal
They need fresh skin to peel

Eye jam and peanut butter
Be aware of nothing better
Rump roast with bloody toast
Would give any child a reason to boast

Nice and full
With a new skull
They hum a simple tune
Praying for food next noon
While sucking on their soup spoon
