Dreams of Reality

Dreams of Reality

Entranced with a glazed illusion of a soul,
Encouraged to start a spark with gray coal,
Patiently I wait for you to speak
Wishing only to touch your cheek,
A vision of purity you are,
Then I realize the distance is far,
My heart pounds as you look my way,
Slowly your sweet arms begin to sway.
I hold out mine hoping for your embrace,
Walking forward I search for a trace,
That you can see me as I see you,
I see you turn to another without a clue
My arms drop as I watch you disappear,
Distraught the illusion became as I fear,
Your soul found a sweeter dream,
Stronger than my frozen stream.
